Birmingham Airport
It was Global Recycling Day last week. One of our partners, Birmingham Airport put out an amazing video to celebrate. We’re Proud of the partnership we’ve built together over the past few years. Aviation has been hit so hard, but we #Buildbackgeener placing ever more emphasis on inverting the Waste Hierarchy.
Global Recycling Day was created in 2018 to help recognise, and celebrate, the importance recycling plays in preserving our precious primary resources and securing the future of our planet. It is a day for the world to come together and put the planet first.
We have the power to make lasting changes to combat this, and with recycling being recognized in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals 2030, we’re already seeing many individuals, governments and organisations taking direct action to support the global green agenda.
Recycling has become a key part of the circular economy, helping to protect our natural resources. Each year recycling saves over 700 million tonnes in CO2 emissions, projected to increase to 1 billion tons by 2030.
Dave Gudgeon, Head of External Affairs, said – ‘It is important that waste management companies and businesses who work in waste always push forward with innovative idea’s which help businesses and consumers invert the waste hierarchy. While recycling is the first step, we encourage reduce, reuse, and recycle to our clients, helping from the start of their supply chain with products. We’re constantly on the look out for new technology which can assist in allowing us to partner towards your world without waste.’
