Global Awards Recognition 2023
Our team attended the International CSR Excellence and Green Worlds Awards ceremony at St Pauls Cathedral, London and walked away with 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze trophies.
Our team of Innovation Consultants and Sustainability Managers have been working closely with customers to deliver on some amazing projects, and their hard work hasn’t gone unrecognised.
We’ve been supporting OCS Group and Birmingham Airport on charitable and community projects focused primarily in the East Birmingham and North Solihull area. Through the International CSR Excellence platform, Birmingham Airport claimed Gold status on both the ‘Community Commitment’ and ‘Charitable Giving’ categories.
Speaking about the award, Senior Sustainability Manager, Darren Andrew said “Birmingham Airport are committed to working as a responsible neighbour, and we know that these projects make a real difference to the local community. I’m proud to be involved with likeminded individuals who are doing great things when it comes to sustainability and community.”
Not to be outdone, David Ellison, Chief Operating Officer, Deep Blue Restaurants collected Silver at this years Green World Awards in the Food & Drink – Waste Management Category. This is in recognition of their excellent work to donate surplus stock, improve the recycled content and recyclability of their packaging, and engage their teams of fryers to maximise source segregation of waste material.
Food manufacturer, Fresh-Pak Chilled Foods won Bronze on the global stage in the Carbon Reduction category for their phenomenal work on reusing and recycling 99% of all their waste generated in their production process.
Sustainability Manager, Lisa Daubney-Madigan, said “FreshPak are a great example of the positive impact food manufacturers can have on the environment. They’ve focused on minimising food waste in line with UN sustainable development goal 12.3, improved recycling through a major project to maximise segregation, all whilst focusing on the recycled content and recyclability of the packaging used up and down stream in their supply chain.”
Gourmet Burger Kitchens overarching belief that tomorrow’s burger can always be better includes their sustainability strategy. Their environmental credentials are as lip smacking as the food they serve in their restaurants, and it’s why they collected the Bronze trophy in the global category for Food & Drink – Waste Management.
A huge congratulations to these worthy winners, and a big thanks for attending and making it such a special event.
