The Apple Orchard

After several delays, the International Green Apple Environment awards took place earlier this week and it certainly was a day to remember. Clients including Marston’s, Prezzo, Birmingham Airport, Roadchef, TUI UK and Azzurri Group combined to scoop eight Green Apple and Green World awards!

They competed against more than 500 other nominations in the International Green Apple Awards, and they were presented with their trophies and certificates at a glittering presentation ceremony in The Royal Horseguards Hotel, London on November 15th. The coronavirus pandemic resulted in significant delays in getting the UK’s greenest companies together to celebrate the success of their environmental campaigns; this resulted in a bumper ceremony this week to celebrate winners from both 2020 and 2021.

Azzurri Group delivered a recipe for success being crowned Food & Drink Champions in Environmental Best Practice (2020).
Marston’s PLC set the bar by taking gold in the 2020 Green World Awards and a silver for their work across the SA Brains estate in the 2021 Green Apple Awards.

TUI UKs sustainability strategy
– Better Holidays, Better World – saw them taking home gold in the Hospitality / Travel Environmental Practice category (2020).

Birmingham Airports campaign
– To be proud of every journey – saw them taking gold in the Hospitality / Travel Environmental Practice category (2021).

Roadchef’s Sustainability Matters
campaign saw them collecting a silver award for Retail & Wholesale Environmental Best Practice (2020).
Last but by no means least, Prezzo combined the right ingredients and collected a Bronze trophy in the Food & Drink category (2021).

Max Kanda, Managing Director, Novati said “We start every partnership with our clients by tailoring our sustainable solutions to suit their unique needs. By working closely together we’re able to deliver change that has a long lasting, positive impact on the climate. At a time when COP26 in the minds of many consumers and businesses alike, we’re stiving to deliver on the ambitious goals our clients are setting for themselves. These awards are great recognition for our clients and shows that their hard work really is making a difference in the world.”

The International Green Apple Environment Awards were established in 1994 and have become one of the world’s most prestigious recognition campaigns. The Judges are totally independent, and they’re selected because of their appropriate environmental and technical knowledge, their professional backgrounds and relevant experience. The aims of the Green Apple and Green World Awards are to improve environmental performance, encourage the efficient use of resources, enhance the competitiveness of organisations and to support the wider goals of sustainable development, including social benefits through community and staff involvement.
